Backburner: Movement II | Intaglio
These 5”x 5” squares were cut out from prints of the back of an etching plate that
I worked on for several months. The marks were made over time by transportation,
deconstruction, and pure disregard of the plate. Using the chine-collè process, I printed
the plate on three different sheets of hand stained rice paper and then wheat pasted it
to sheets of Reeves BFK. This piece reflects my journey with the plate and my deep
appreciation of mark making and intaglio.
